New Scouts & Parents,
A typical campout:
First of all, the entire family is invited. Even if grandma and
grandpa want to come, that is fine. Friends and potential cub scouts are welcome as well. If
you do not have camping supplies, do not fear. We have extra for those of you who
need it. Quite a few of us have travel trailers, so if you have one let
the Cubmaster know so that he
can make sure we have enough camper spots reserved. If not, and you need a tent, we should
be able to accomodate you. Please give us advance notice so that we can round up the
proper equipment before we leave that Friday. Make sure that you bring your
children's bicycles and whatever else they want to play with. There is plenty of
room for the kids to play whatever game they wish to play.
FRIDAY: Typically, everyone shows up throughout Friday evening,
depending upon when they get off of work, etc. Therefore, everyone usually fixes their own
supper (or stops at Jack-in-the-box).
SATURDAY: Saturday morning, everyone usually prepares their own
breakfast whenever they get up and around. We don't usually start doing any activities
until 10:00 AM. The boys play games and earn patches and/or pins throughout the day. Lunches are typically done with your den
or on your own . Starting at 6:00 PM we will
begin to prepare the food. The entire pack will eat together Saturday night. We'll
eat between 7:00 & 8:00. When it becomes dark we will have a campfire
ceremony, this is the part you do not want to miss. Each den will have at least
one skit they will perform in front of the pack. The adult leaders
usually have a skit or two as well. Everyone usually turns in around 10:00
pm, although some stay up later.
SUNDAY: On Sunday morning, people begin leaving at 8:00 AM, some of us
hang around until noon then leave.
Thank you!
