Adopt-a-Spot Program Guidelines & Checklist

Pack 311 has adopted Slockett Park on Nantucket Rd for our Adopt-a-Spot cleanups. The program is administered by Keep Sugarland Beautiful (KSLB).

NOTE: Pack 311 traditionally schedules a cleanup every other month, on a Saturday at 9:00 am. We also try to schedule a cleanup the day after National Night Out in August. A record should be kept of who participates in the cleanups, because they count toward community service awards.

Volunteer Waiver Form | Cleanup Report Form

Program Guidelines:

  • Adopt-A-Spot groups must pledge to adopt an area for a minimum of two years. An agreement must be signed by the group contact.
  • All volunteers in the Adopt-A-Spot program must sign a waiver of liability and agreement to hold harmless the City of Sugar Land and Keep Sugar Land Beautiful from any claim due to participation in the Adopt-A-Spot Program. A parent/guardian signature is required on the waiver for participants under 18 years of age. All signed waivers must be sent to KSLB.
  • Adopt-A-Spot partners must agree to a minimum of four clean-ups per year (at least one per calendar quarter).  Some areas may warrant more frequent clean-ups.
  • One adult chaperone for every 10 youths under age 18 involved in the cleanup.
  • Your group name will be placed on an Adopt-a-Spot sign and will remain at your spot throughout your pledged adoption period. If terms of the Adopt-A-Spot program are not met, your sign will be removed.
  • Group Contacts are expected to:
    • Obtain signatures on waivers and send them to KSLB
    • File Clean-Up Report within a week of the clean up (necessary for mandatory reporting)
